I'm a big fan of the beta app for foursquare.

My version of the blackberry (curve) doesn't allow me to download the seesmic app otherwise I would use that but am quite happy with ubertwitter.

It really depends if you have to travel a lot to meet clients and spend a lot of time at airports, trains etc but recently I've had more business abroad and not always in locations covered by wi-fi. So one app that came in handy is Advanced Conference Call (stumbled upon it one of the bigger app stores)
My two partners can't always travel with me (too expensive) and it saves us time and money to have a quick conference call between the three of us rather than wait for me to get online at my first (in)convenience. I guess this would be mostly helpful if you work in a small team and travel a lot.

Thanks Claudio for letting me know about the iSkoot info. Make sense that they would ask for the number for that reason. Glad to have you around :) hope to see you more often in the comments

i work a lot with iSkoot (is the only skype app for bb I think)
They ask you for your phone number couse you can receive skype calls to your bb device (paying with your skype out credits) you can turn off this option but if someone calls you instead of im you to your desktop, the call will drop inmediatly (if iSkoot is turned on in the device)

I am not sure about the iSkoot as I haven't added it personally. Is it asking for your phone number or a skype number?

And as for apps that utilize data, I would say that twitterberry is a bit on the slower end of things.

Just got my new BlackBerry up and running and installed almost all of these. Does anyone know why iSkoot wants your number to set up? Are any of these apps known to use a ton of data?

[...] 10 Must Have Blackberry Apps For Web Workers: I’m sure many of our Blackberry-toting readers groan at the almost-monopolizing amount of iPhone-centric articles around the web, and maybe even here. If you’re in search of apps that are useful for freelancers and others working from home via the web, this article is sure to help. [...]

Ditto on the Ubertwitter vs. Twitterberry debate. Slacker is a must have companion to Pandora but if I had to choose just one, I'd keep slacker because of the ability to cache stations = listen when no signal is available (planes and trains anyone???)
And stick with Opera Mini, its far less buggy and faster than Bolt.

Also check out PaidContent's BB app - http://paidcontent.org/blackberry/.

You can add tabs where you could include RSS feeds from other sources.
