I freelance because I’ve reached the point where office politics bore me to tears and interrupt my creative flow.
I put 100% into every project and the variety keeps my work fresh and relevant and the clients happy. Yes, I’ve worked in my pyjamas but this can backfire when receiving deliveries so generally I swim or gym in the morning and spend the rest of the day fully dressed and ready to face the world. I do go out for coffee though. Occasionally I accept an in-house placement (never more than 6 months) to keep things in balance. Overall, it works well.

I can’t deny I’ve been laughing real loud from the start ’til the end of reading this post. Gee, what do they really think of freelancers, really? I think Mike, you’ve said it all here. How about this: Women freelancers are working as web cam girls? What?! Yes, someone told me that.

Interesting article! Apparently, most towns in the UK have an average of 3% freelance population, but I live in Brighton where 10% of us freelance.

I’m lucky that I have never come across any of these stereotypes – well except that people think I get up late… which I do!

nice post… Just funny that you say..”that I do NOT drink coffee … monster energy drinks is another story though ” but your guerilla icon on the top definitely looks like he has a cup of joe in his hand! lol…

but most are very untrue stereotypes, but i do love me some COFFEE!!
