I just don’t feel like it
How many times have you said that when you looked at your computer and had a mound of emails to respond to and a to-do list about a mile long? Yeah, I’ve been there too. In fact, I’ve been there as recently as this past week, which is why you’ve not seen updates here on the blog. I just didn’t feel like it.
When I don’t feel like writing, I could always push myself through it but the quality suffers and that’s just not something I want to do here because we already come across enough blogs with bullshit filler/fluff content, I refuse to let this blog become part of that. Which brings me to my next point.
If you don’t feel like it, don’t do it.
It’s that simple.
If it’s something that needs done by X day and you’ve got a few days left, take the day off. It’s going to be there tomorrow and with that break, you’ll feel refreshed and ready to tackle everything.
If it’s something that needs to be done NOW, then you can turn your desk into a trash can of energy drinks (like my desk looks right now) and keep yourself up past 3am to get everything done.
Either way, the choice is yours. That’s what we’re freelancers for, right? The freedom to choose what we do and what we don’t.
Just be ready for the consequences if you don’t do something on time.
As for me, I’m headed back to the emails and coding I’m currently working on. We’ll resume normal posting schedule on Monday – enjoy the weekend.
