Awesome article! Do you feel NOT having a blog will work against you? My fianceé and I are freelance designers and are currently in the process of a major revamp to our site. Do you think it would hurt us client wise..not having a blog?

Yeah, if your blog/business can chat up things you do for a living, or a product you want to promote by giving out the tips and pointers like that, you're able to benefit from your blogging even more.

Very good article, and I can absolutely concur. I would also add that quality and relevance of content matter tremendously. We are an IBM business partner and subsequently we sell their software. Posts that show tips, pointers, and best practices always drive up the traffic as others tend to bookmark them and link to them. Our blog traffic is 10X our web site traffic, and we update our web site 2-3 times a month.

Yeah, I agree. You've got to have the time to blog properly, but I think it's an important part of your freelance business and one that should require you to carve time out for it.

Thanks for the comment :) Next time, try leaving your actual name instead of the "Web Design Maidstone" name for your url though.
